Leather Purses/Clutches Repair

Repairing leather purses and clutches can be a cost-effective and sustainable way to extend the life of your favorite accessories. Here are some general steps we do follow to repair leather purses and clutches

1. Assess the Damage

We examine the purse or clutch to identify all the areas that need repair. We note any tears, scratches, scuffs, loose stitching, or hardware issues.

2. Cleaning

We wipe the leather with a clean, damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. We use a leather cleaner solution if necessary, and then wipe it clean with a damp cloth. And we let the leather dry completely before moving on.

3. Repairing Tears and Scratches

If there are small tears or scratches, we use a leather filler for repair. For larger tears, we may need to replace a section of the leather or glue it in place.

4. Stitching

If the stitching is loose or damaged, we carefully remove the old stitches using a seam ripper or small scissors. We then re-stitch the seams using a strong thread and a needle. And we ensure that the stitches match the original pattern and are evenly spaced.

5. Reattach Hardware

If any hardware, such as zippers or clasps, is loose or missing, we replace them.

6. Reconditioning

We apply a leather conditioner to keep the leather soft and supple.

7. Color Restoration

If the leather has faded or the color is uneven, we use a matching leather dye to restore the color.

8. Polishing

After all repairs are complete, we buff the leather with a soft, dry cloth to give it a polished finish.

9. Final Inspection

We examine your repaired purse or clutch to ensure all repairs are well done and the accessory looks as good as new.
