Leather Stilettos Repair

Repairing leather stilettos or high-heeled shoes extend their life and save money on buying new ones. Here's a general guide on how to repair leather stilettos.

1. Assess the Damage

We carefully inspect stilettos to identify all areas that need repair. We note any scuffs, scratches, tears, loose stitching, and heel damage.

2. Cleaning

We start by wiping the shoes with a leather cleaning solution to remove dirt and dust. If necessary, we use a leather cleaner solution and then wipe them clean with a damp cloth. We allow the leather to dry thoroughly before moving on.

3. Repairing Scuffs and Scratches

For minor scuffs and scratches, we often use a leather repair filler to fill and blend them following the kit's instructions. For more severe damage, we use a leather patch on the inside of the shoe and glue it in place. We ensure the patch is slightly larger than the damaged area for better coverage.

4. Stitching

If the shoes have loose or damaged stitching, we carefully remove the old stitches using a seam ripper or small scissors. We then re-stitch the seams using a strong thread and a needle, making sure to match the original stitch pattern and spacing.

5. Heel Repair/ Replace

If the stiletto heels are damaged or worn, we often replace the heel tips ourselves. We purchase replacement heel tips that match the style and size of the original heel tips. We use pliers or a similar tool to remove the old heel tips and attach the new ones.

6. Reconditioning

We apply a leather conditioner to keep the leather soft, supple, and moisturized. This helps prevent the leather from drying out and cracking.

7.Color Restoration

If the leather's color has faded or become uneven, we use a leather dye to restore the color.

8. Polishing

After completing all repairs, we buff the leather stilettos with a soft, dry cloth to give them a polished finish.

9. Final Inspection

We examine the repaired stilettos to ensure all repairs are well-done, and the shoes look as close to their original condition as possible.
